Joseba Badiola, director of Burdinola Service, made his presentation in one of the center's laboratories, explaining to each of the groups of people using the laboratories the level of safety that can be covered by each of the collective protection equipment available in that laboratory. Emphasis was placed on what the regulations provide for this equipment in terms of safety, highlighting the specific case of standard EN 14175-2 on the safety requirements to be met by fume cupboards.
He explained the criteria to be taken into account when selecting, among the different types of fume cupboards, the appropriate model. He also reviewed the reasons why it is necessary to carry out regular on-site inspections to verify the correct operation of the fume cupboards in terms of their containment capacity, a fundamental parameter to ensure the protection of users.
The exhibition also included some practical exercises on the containment capacity of Burdinola fume cupboards under different conditions of use and occupation of the fume cupboards so that the users of this equipment could visualize the modifications they can make in their daily use to maximize the protection capacity of the fume cupboards.
The Cepsa Research Center has more than 12,000 m2 where every day more than 100 professionals research the application of innovative solutions in the decarbonization of the energy sector, with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions. The center has laboratories, state-of-the-art equipment and pilot plants capable of reproducing its processes. Burdinola Service currently has the maintenance contract for the fume cupboards that make up the laboratories of this Cepsa center.
Burdinola Service integrates verification, maintenance, training and Sat services, and their main focus is to guarantee the safety and proper functioning of the laboratories throughout their life cycle. It is precisely this training service that is being promoted through training courses of this type.
