We have been the Spanish representative on the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) since 1985 and promoters of numerous aspects of the UNE-EN 14175 standard.
We pay meticulous attention to detail throughout the entire process, from using only the best materials and components on the market (all of European origin), to the design and execution of the project as a whole.
The entire Burdinola product range is certified in accordance with European regulations: UNE-EN 13150:2001, UNE-EN 16122:2013, UNE-EN 16121:2014, UNE-EN 14175-1:2004, UNE-EN 14175-2:2003, UNE-EN 14175-3:2004, UNE-EN 14175-4:2005, UNE-EN 14175-5:2009, UNE-EN 14175-6:2007 and UNE-EN 14175-7:2012.
The risks of an accident occurring or hazardous substances being accidentally released in a laboratory can be avoided to a considerable extent by ensuring that the laboratory is well designed and by selecting the right workstations and work equipment.
In this respect, and in line with our positioning as a supplier of safe laboratories, Burdinola has the UNE-EN 14056:2004, standard which specifies design and installation recommendations to ensure maximum safety in the working environment.
Based on a philosophy of continuous improvement, Burdinola has taken another step forward by implementing an eco-design management system that complies with the UNE-EN ISO 14006:2011 standard.
Our eco-design certificate demonstrates that we have adopted a management system to continuously identify, monitor and improve the environmental aspects of our products and services.
Eco-design is a methodology that integrates the environmental variable into the design and development of products and services, thereby reducing their environmental impact throughout their life cycle.

PEFC-certified forest-based products means that our consumers can rest assured that they are buying products sourced from sustainably managed forests.
Burdinola has a chain of custody control systems in place for our forest-based products which complies with the specified requirements.

An EPD is a certified environmental declaration drawn up in compliance with the ISO 14025 international standard (Type III Environmental Declarations). This means that Burdinola’s wall-mounted benches and ST fume cupboards are covered by this certificate.
It provides environmental information on products/services based on life cycle analysis (LCA) and other relevant information in compliance with the standard. An EPD shows the environmental performance of any product/service that is analysed in an objective way.

As experts in the field, we have been appointed by AENOR to represent Spain in the development of European laboratory safety standards.

Burdinola is a founding member of EGNATON, the European Association for Sustainable Laboratories.
As a member of SEFA (The Scientific Equipment and Furniture Association), we work closely with laboratory owners, architects, contractors and other stakeholders to promote the goal of creating a safe laboratory environment.
Since 2020 we have been a member of the Nanotechnology Industries Association (NIA), which supports the development of nanotechnology innovations designed to improve the lives of consumers, preserve our environment and better our world. Burdinola joined the NIA following the launch of our Nano Camera.
We are active members of Habic, an equipment, furniture and design cluster in the Basque Country. Mikel Martínez, CEO of Burdinola, is currently the president of the Habic Cluster, a group of 115 companies in the Basque Country with more than 5,500 employees and a turnover of 1.2 billion euros.
CIFL, which was founded in 1960, is active in the French market as a professional association of suppliers of laboratory products, services and instrumentation in the areas of research, analysis and control. Its aim is to defend the interests of the laboratory profession and all its members.
