The project
The Central University Hospital of Asturias (HUCA) in Oviedo is the flagship hospital of the Health Service of the Principality of Asturias.
The HUCA is equipped with the most advanced solutions in terms of spaces and infrastructures, as well as technological and scientific equipment and programmes, thereby facilitating modern medical practices at a European level.
Burdinola worked on this project as an integral supplier, planning spaces and work areas, and optimising functionalities, equipment and materials. The latest advances and developments in state-of-the-art technology applied to safety, fume cupboards, materials, the environment, sustainability and energy savings have been integrated into the HUCA's laboratories.
In this way, Burdinola has created laboratories from the central area or CORE to specific laboratories for biochemistry, mass spectrometry, microbiology and the room classified for virology, pathological anatomy, haematology, blood bank, immunology, genetics and molecular oncology, in a total of 2,000 square metres.
Scope of the project awarded: Design, project management, planning, integration, installation, training, after-sales and maintenance.
A full study of their needs was carried out with the aim of optimising the equipment and operation of the laboratories, taking into account the availability of space and work flows, based on the regulations in force. Working in partnership, Burdinola was responsible for coordinating the different trades involved in the project and allocating the resources necessary for the project's smooth integration.
All the equipment in the different areas of the hospital centre is integrated in an efficient way, being the only managers and interlocutors of the hospital project management.
