The project
UBE Corporation Europe is a group of companies dedicated to producing and distributing chemical products and creating technological and sustainable solutions to meet the demands of industry.
The UBE Corporation Europe plant in Castellón - its industrial base and European headquarters - is home to production lines for caprolactam (the raw material used to make nylon or polyamide 6), fertilisers, fine chemicals (1,6-hexanediol, 1,5-pentanediol, polycarbonate diols), nylon and copolyamides.
The new R&D Centre has a floor area of 2000 m2 and its facilities provide UBE with a complete base for synthesising materials, carrying out analyses for characterising and evaluating materials or products, and an area for pilot plants.
The new infrastructure will facilitate the development of materials and processes in collaboration with UBE customers worldwide in the field of coatings, special paints, adhesives, food packaging, film, automotive components, etc.
There are currently 30 full-time staff working in this area.
The Burdinola team was responsible for supplying the furniture for the two research laboratories located in this new R&D centre, each of which is 180 m2 and is equipped with a total of 18 state-of-the-art fume.
